Okay, we hear you. User profiles -- one of the most widely-requested features of the last 24 hours -- have returned to Multiply!

It seems that many of you absolutely need profiles on Multiply... sort of like you need the air you breathe. (Only more so.) So let me just be clear: We're not getting rid of your profiles. We wouldn't want to see you asphyxiate. :-)

We are, however, going to be moving the profile links to your "Welcome" message boxes. But now, because of this, you have a choice. When you edit your Welcome message, you'll now have the option of showing or hiding the link to your profile. People who want to use their profiles will be able to; those who do not won't feel obligated to.

We think this is a reasonable compromise.

And, please -- no, pretty please -- let it not be said that we don't listen to you guys.
Relax. We hear you.

Just hide them: mouse over the box title and click on HIDE. =)

i want to add existing contacts to my newly created group, but multiply does not let me view contacts real-time or have a autocomplete feature (meaning i have to open another window with the contacts page and enter them one by one). would appreciate any better work around please? thank you

What about the EXPLORE command? Why did you take that out? I thought that was a good way to see what new responses or postings my contacts made (or chosen "universe" - close, medium, contacts, etc).

Did you replace it with something else that gives me the same outcome?

Right now, when I click on My Multiply, it does not indicate the latest reply on the postings, but when the postings are opened, they are updated. FYI.

Hey! You have a glitch on the hide thing. When I hide the contacts box and i tried to unhide it theirs no button or something unhide. Please fix this problem. And what a wonderful new version of multiply. I LOVE IT!

Would have been better to announce this weeks in advance so your members could have had input, very big of you to say, "these wonderful new upgrades" but you didn't inform anyone and kept it to yourself and let people suddenly see them, no word of warning. Sounds like you did a Microsoft on us, release software then wait for feedback, this works or that doesn't etc.

The 'Explore' function needs to be back for one.

The hovering you keep saying over the titles for editing isn't working... Both on Explorer & FireFox. This new setup is so frustrating... How am I supposed to edit my hompage?!?
* Even the option you mentioned about the hide/unhide under the headshot? I rreally don't like the CONTACTS & GROUPS on my homepage. I know I'm the only one who sees it, but euw.

Can you guys please...
(1) Place back the 'Edit homepage' & the 'Edit titles' options... I seriously HOVERED on everything already.
(2) Put the old 'Reorder photos 'option back. The bigger new one isn't working properly.
...Whatever, just PLEASE bring back those old ones. It was way easier! =s

what's up with this change?! and why are we not notified about it in advanced? yes! what also happend to to user profiles? spent hours trying to see where the usual stuff are placed but honestly.. this is REALLY FRUSTRATING! i though updating or upgrading the system is supposed to be making it easy, new and adding things not taking away the ability for us to personalize our own multiply site. SUPER COMPLICATED....

I will echo some of the comments above in saying that it would have been a better 'customer service' by informing (not necessarily asking or waiting for feedback) the users of the changes in the upgrade. I run an alumni group site on Multiply and most of the members are computer literate to the extent that something like a Yahoo group is the next best thing to sliced bread. As it is, it was a bit tough getting them oriented to the Multiply way of groups. It got harder with the upgrade changes.

Often times, simple is the best. simple+multiply would be ideal! Which it is!

simple+multiply+a good how-to in the help/faq section would be the real mccoy!

Does anyone know or point me to the Profile Pages settings where more details can be set up like address, tel no, email address, which school we went to, which college we went to etc etc.

All i see now is the basic settings page for: name, email, DOB, city, zip and time zone.

Do I have this option? hey guys, if we have the option not to display profile (what i love for my site is thematic) then please give us the option to hide also the headshot for coherence!!

Is there some reason you can't offer a low bandwidth option, without all of the tricky bits?

Multiply was already slow on my 512 SHDSL link before you added all of the grey-outs and profile info (Fortunately that can be turned off) and other gew-gaws for the kids.
