Not long ago, we introduced our new HTML
check feature, and Multiply users everywhere pretty much all
rejoiced at once. They partied and danced in the streets, celebrating
their newfound freedom from those eentsy-weentsy little HTML mistakes
that could potentially cause page layout headaches, and on the whole,
generally ruin one's day.
With this in mind, we
wanted to let you know that there's currently an issue with the way
this feature works in Internet Explorer browsers. If you had any
invalid (or not-quite-perfect) HTML in one of your layout boxes
before we
introduced this feature, you may be having some trouble editing
your site using IE, now.
So what's a Multiply user to
do, short of contacting customer service for help?
There are two
options:
Have patience. We're working
on a fix for this issue. We'll let you know when it's
ready.
Don't have patience? There's
also an easy, do-it-yourself solution available to you now. If you have
the Firefox browser on
your computer, simply open up the site in Firefox, edit the appropriate
layout box, and save it. The HTML will be auto-corrected, making
editing possible once again in any
browser!
Yep, it's as simple as
that.
Update: We've come up with a fix for this issue. The next time you click the "Customize Site" link to edit your homepage, you'll see a brief "Repairing HTML" message. Please allow this operation to complete; it should only take a few seconds. This will automatically fix any broken HTML that would otherwise prevent you from being able to edit your page.

Although cross browser compatibility is something to strive for, I must say it's a nice change to see that IE's having issues with a new feature rather than the other way around.
Hey, love all the new features. But Nancy, Joe and I are wondering what happened to "adultsexvideo" page and the vids there. We loved them, and thought about posting some some ourselves. Anyone have an clue what happened? thanks meghan, nanc, joe

Firefox is good, but only for Latin Languages. For example if you are using Firefox, and trying to post an Right to Left Content (Persian, Arabic, Ebri, etc) then the cursor don't show the right position and also the RTL Hotkey (Ctrl+Shift) don't work at all. But I like it. IE 7.0 is not a good job. If you are using IE 6, I recommend you don't upgrade. You enforced to use Refresh key all the time, no matter you visited the page 1 month before, it still would show you previous edition from the cache. I wonder is there any Interface Designer (or any designer at all) at the Microsoft. Do they use their products? I think most of them are using Firefox :D

I'm not familiar with the particulars of that account. It may have just been canceled by one of the group administrators, or by the staff for violating Multiply's Terms of Service. Adult content must be shared privately on Multiply -- either only with one's own contacts or in a private, designated adult group.
i have one issue with this html fix issue. it has deleted my chatterbox, my dogster account layout, my extreme tracker and my hits counter (all on the side bar).
Is this also applicable to pre-made home pages as were previously available? Mine keeps on loading with a "Fail on page message" The fail is not always the same.
"Please allow this operation to complete; it should only take a few seconds. This will automatically fix any broken HTML that would otherwise prevent you from being able to edit your page. "
What happens if I don't allow it to finish? You see, I clicked on exit even before the operation was complete. Then exactly right after, my slideshow didn't want to load anymore. It was perfectly fine before that. And what's even more weird is, everyone else sees my slideshow through their Safari browser and I don't =(
Had to reinstall my archaic Windows 2000 Pro recently, and, hence, IE 6.0. Since then, I don“t get my page displayed correctly (I did the layout end of October, so the faulty HTML issue should have been addressed, no?) Anyway, just installed Firefox, and - tata! - it works fine. So, are there still any IE issues that might prevent the proper viewing of a site? Regards, PP
