i'm surprised to see the Guestbook Section, but thanks a lot, I think it's cool and btw will it also serve as a testimonial section?.. haha, just wondering...
it's annoying when a notification is put up on the messageboard EACH TIME someone receives a message on their guestbook.
Guestbook entries work like any other post on Multiply -- active conversations that you're interested in (based on whether or not you continue to read new replies) stay near the top of your message board, and ones you don't care about and ignore simply slide down the page as newer stuff is posted.
If you're not the patient type and want someone's guestbook (or anything else on your message board) to simply disappear *right this second* go to your message board Preferences and enable "Subscribe," "Pin," and "Remove". Then, simply click the remove the remove link ( ) next to the appropriate post once and that post will never bother you again. :)
by the way, please allow the owner of the site to delete guestbook entries as well :-)
You can! :) Just click the "View All # Comments" link at the bottom of your guestbook to go to your dedicated guestbook page, where you'll find delete links.

i just wana turn it off...coz if some one put a message with picture in my guestbook (and the size of the picture is a huge one) it's bring a disaster....my mp looks like a car after an accident....it's warck out my template
Finally, we've made a few minor changes to our Terms of Service. Be sure to have a look over the revised document, and if you have any questions about it, feel free to direct them to customer service.
When you do this, it would be really helpful to point out what you changed. I doubt any user saves a copy of the Terms of Service to compare later. I know I certainly don't!
That being said, I do know how to use the Wayback Machine and diff... so:
A fair portion of the changes involve adding more legal boilerplate and a$$-covering language. :)
They've stated some existing rules more explicitly - like no under-13s, no individual accounts for groups/entities, and stuff like that.
They've fleshed out the bit about nuking accounts.
They've drastically simplified the bit on direct outside links to content on Multiply, which now just says, "We reserve the right to limit the number of times and/or the frequency with which any video or music file hosted on the Multiply Web site can be downloaded and played."
Those are the big things that jumped out at me. Most users won't be affected at all, but they're certainly laying the policy/legal basis for putting the smackdown on violators.

It's impossible to disable it entirely, as far as I can see.
I did:
-> Customize Site Find the Guestbook box Edit it, set it to contacts only Hide it
So - it won't appear on my home page; the number of people who can access it if they know where to look is small, and the number of people who can see it if anyone does post is small.
Unfortunately, I think guestbooks will end up containing a lot of stuff that would have gone in personal messages before, and generally filling my message board with idle chatter. ;)
I appreciate the improvements, really I do ... (Do you hear a "but" coming?) What gives with the music and photo uploads? For one week now, I have tried to post music - yes, I took it one at a time - yes, it's an mp3 - it starts out with a "hurrah!" 1.8 minutes left ... then it sits there for twenty minutes (I timed it) and I wind up with a 30 second clip of music. What I'd like to know - honestly and truthfully: is the site having problems or is it our server? Thanks, Paul
I appreciate about the development, but sorry, it is-honestly- very annoying...I couldn't see my own postings because of the flooding... My Message Board is flooded by the Guestbook. please give us solutions,
the guestbook feature is cool, though i hope you can do something about the alerts or notifications. its pretty annoying cause its flooding the message board. like me, i dont care if someone gets a new comment. haha!

thank you Multiply for the Guestbook. It is very useful, as only yesterday I was looking for somewhere, on a couple of Homepages, to wish the members a Happy Birthday, and in the end had to use a reply box for one of their old posts.
Also, it is much better than the My Space Home Page comments as we can write and reply to messages on there ourselves too...unlike my Space!! :)

Exactly the same thing happened to me - didn't know where to put a b'day wish for someone. So... thanks! x
i posted this morning that it would be nice if there will be a reply thingie in the guestbook. something like when you post a message it goes directly to the person concerned. and he can answer back at you which you can see it automatically in your box. then you dont have to reply to a person's message by adding the '@" sign just to make him aware that you are answering his post.
It's awesome. hmmm how can i delete comment in the guestbook?

Your search engine has gotten bad again...once again, it's become impossible to find anything. You have got to stop this bull...and go back to the original, music has become really hard to find again. What the hell is up with you guys? This search is a pain in the ass...please bring back the original. This search sucks monkey balls...
How do I get rid of the Guestbook? How do I stop everyone else's guestbook comments from popping up in my mail? I have enough trouble with the 250+ items of spam that you seem to be uncapable of stopping, I definitely don't want any more!
I agree the old Search Engine is way betteeeeeeeeeeeeeer! :( search really sucks now. i hope the multiply staff would fix it coz' i do a lot of searching.
I hate the guestbooks - they are thoroughly annoying :
Guestbooks are often available at the bottom of userpages - I have to scroll to get to them, often through pages of content first
Each time a new guestbook entry is added, it gets the same prominance at a new thread. Trust me, they're nothing like as interesting or important
One gets a guestbook whether I want one or not. There must be an option to turn it off. EDIT : Found it.
On the whole, you hit way more than miss with new developments which I admire. But sadly, guestbooks do nothing for me and many others. If they are to stay (and other comments here clearly suggest they will), please make them optional.
Thanks for the guestbook. It came as a surprise for me. I had wanted to have one for so long, but never got the time to create it until you provided it for us.
Btw, I'm still expecting the mobile version of Multiply. I'm sure you are aware about the booming trend of mobile internet. It seems that more and more people are using Blackberry, PDA-phone, wide-screen cell phone and many other mobile gadgets that enable them to surf the internet on the go. The growing popularity of 3G services and the introduction of HSPDA technology is making mobile surfing more convenient.
During my long-distance trips, I find Multiply as an effective and fun way to share my notes and pictures to my family and friends either back home in Indonesia or in some neighboring countries. Unfortunately, scrolling through your desktop version with my cellphone or Blackberry is quite uneasy thing to do.
A few months ago, several people from your office informed me that the mobile version of Multiply was being developed. When I passed over this information to my network, I got more positive responds than I expected, a clear proof that there were more people enjoying Multiply on their mobile gadgets.
So, I'm looking forward to getting the good news from you.
Thanks --- Tomi Satryatomo (wisat.multiply.com) Jakarta-Indonesia
I don't like the guest book...I don't like seeing everyone's guestbook entry listed on the message board. It takes up way too much space and time. And....the navigational numbers at the bottom of the page are too small and too close together. I don't like this at all.
Guestbook was more annoying than useful to me. I just hid it... I also deleted notifications on my message board about posts in other people's guestbooks. Why should I be notified whenever someone says "hi" to someone else?
Ohhhhh, I didn't think about hiding the guestbook!! Exactly, I don't like being notified when someone makes a post on someone elses guestbook. I think it'd also be better to have them in the margin, instead of on the page. HOw many posts does it go down before it starts a new page??

Bravo Multiply....!! It's just great. At least I could stopping by very easy at my contacts, just to write or to say hello...!! Without to read all the blogs or posting one....by one. Well, unfortunately not everyone have written a comments in a nice way. Then, what do you think of the upcoming ads more to come. Olala....that's absurd!!
