While it's not news to us that plenty of people could use an easy way to share their lives with those who matter to them — and clearly, over six million of you already do! — it's become more and more plain to see that this desire to share isn't going away anytime soon.
On this note, we're proud to announce that we've closed our second round of funding (what's typically called a "Series B" round, in investor lingo)... to the tune of $16.6 million!
According to David Scott Carlick, Managing Director of one of the firms involved in the funding, VantagePoint Venture Partners,
"Multiply brings a unique and different outlook to the 'social networking' category. Unlike 'meet the world' networks, Multiply is about 'friends and families' being able to share their digital experiences and memories..."
Not only is this investment a tremendous vote of confidence in Multiply, which certainly makes it easy to share all of your media with everyone important to you (and only them, thanks to our advanced privacy features), but it's also a significant milestone in our history.
This investment ensures that we'll not only have the resources to keep Multiply running well into the future, but that we can keep it doing so faster and more reliably than ever. Naturally, this will also allow us to expand our awesome pocky-munching staff, which means quicker development of more new features, and those sorts of good things.
So, thank-yous are clearly in order for everyone who participated in this round of funding, but let's not forget everyone who helped us get to this point... namely our users. Thanks for sharing with Multiply!

In mid-June of this year, the company hit a new milestone of 5 million registered users; less than 3 months later, Multiply had surpassed that with 6 million registered users.

Maybe facebook is getting more media attention but i have a facebook site and it's not a good as multiply in what you can do with ur site, can you change the whole look of ur site with CSS code on Facebook.....No

though i don't contribute much on the funding coz i just signed up for a free account. im very much grateful on how you guys touch peoples lives by having them a place on the net. i can recall one user said its better here, coz its peaceful and quiet, unlike on other social networks. anyhow, thanks and congratulations may your tribe multiply!
Hmm, since you are now funded, and that more features and services will be offered, how about offering a new search engine that brings MORE relevant results? *the Google search engine here is nearly useless*
