You already know that we announced some great news last Friday: we received $16.6 million in new funding to help us expand and further improve Multiply.
Since then, there's been a lot of talk about Multiply in the press. We thought we'd share some of the best coverage we've seen, so we've rolled these into a concise list.
The Times makes a good point, but while it's true that our powerful privacy controls can be appealing to an older demographic, we know that people young and old, alike, enjoy using Multiply.
This one brought a smile to our faces, if for nothing else, the insightful comments left in response by a couple Multiply users. (And yes, we believe we have "a chance." Thanks for asking. :-)
Be sure to let us know if you've found any other articles we've missed!
Shame your not able to add the posts seen within the private forum of CNN & Technet as thede blow your mind.... Sorry i,m unable to show a link to these posts as it is stricly banned from sharring these links or parts of the said post - but there are over 300 comments towards or about the up n comming hoster - MULTIPLY.
You guys aren't sucky! I guess you can take it as needs room for improvement. If you think about it Multiply is like Flickr, Blogspot, Youtube, Del.icio.us and Flixster rolled up into one site.
congratulations multiply! i love this site! it's getting better and better.
here in the Philippines, lots of entrepreneurs are using multiply to sell their stuff. any chance you could bring the market section back?? it would mean easier shopping for consumers here.
Hmmm ... I think SuckyStartups missed the point. Multiply is not about having the largest network with people you don't know. It's about reconnecting with people you DO know and making a few new friends.
You guys had done a wonderful job creating Multiply... And I'm 'rooted' here... for good! Coz you always give us a feeling that you are listening to our opinion and our thoughts and value our feedback by taking action... Kudos guys!!!
Is there any chance you guys will be bringing back the Market Section? :O))
Great news! but as Multiply becomes more popular, I start to worry. They may decide to filter it also, as other popular sites: flicker, youtube, and millions of other sites. We Iranians are in a ridiculous situation, U.S. companies restrict us from accessing services like VISA, Paypal, etc., and our government restrict us other sites and services. :D... but I wish you be the first in your business :)

Thanks Multiply :) So what are you waiting for, go out there and multiply yourselves, the more you multiply : Multiply has come to stay, until someone out there bid for a price of $100 million or more for www.multiply.com, then our task is finished.
congratz! it would be great though if you have a privacy feature that locks up old posts, meaning the really super old ones that's around a hundred plus posts so that the users won't have to edit everything just to put them in private. coz i used to have a public site, but several months ago i had to lock them up. and i still have a hundred post to lock up..
please keep running this site by you and the team currently running it. Never ever sell the company in the future and leave it with people who dont have the spirit, even for a billion of dollars. please. :)
Compared to some on other social networking sites, I've made actual really good friends who I share a bond with on multiply. I think largely in part due to the way it is so easy to interact with them - adding a reply and then answering the reply. It's like a conversation. It's almost like you know the person. From that interaction, there's a bond that you'd have with a friend that you know for a while. Due to that fact, they have gatherings for the Multiply users - strangely, everyone knows about everyone else because they all interacted and shared stories.
Especially, true is the theme that there are things I want to share with Friends and family, thing for all my online buddies, and things for everyone else to see. I think it's the interaction you get. Especially the My Multiply feed - I open my RSS and there are all my friends talking, and I join in. Then from that interaction on a friends page, I meet and talk with another friend. So it grows from there.
I wholely agree, that targeting ads for set segment of users becomes easier with the premise of a group of friends who are discussing similar things. I have friends who have children and the discussion may go to 200 replies involving 30-40 different users who are mostly also mothers. Just from that vantage point, targeting products for mothers and young children would be quite effective.
Multiply is where I pour my heart out to my friends. I just tell my friends on those other social networking sites to access my multiply because I can't be stuffed writing on others. And in the end, they slowly become infected and enjoy the more 'tight knit friendships' you can build on multiply.
This is good news. Somehow, even with more social networks coming out in the market to fully take advantage of Web 2.0 technologies, I'm still bound to stay should there be bigger, better upcoming features here. Mash has already launched beta with ever more interesting ways of applying Web 2.0 technologies only proving that competition only gets fiercer over time. It's just a matter of how Multiply addresses this and one of the critical success factors is going to market with compelling (and even life changing features) fast to maximise the traction Multiply already has to date. Good luck~
I love multiply. Glad to hear you're gonna be around for a while. Some friends and I were discussing what would happen if all the stuff we had stored on here one day vanished . At least we know we have some time to enjoy it. Now, hopefully, we can grow old with Multiply. That's a great thing.
Thanks for a great site. And thanks to the staff for doing a great job taking care of us and dealing with issues in a timely manner.
I think Multiply is the best. But I still miss some improvements, hope this money will do the job. The search tool needs to be broader, for instance, only last name, only first name, place of birth, date, things that would help the user find old friends that have married, changed name, things like that.
Multiply here in the Philippines is owning up the scene. More and more people get on everyday. In our unviersity, (UP Diliman), there are even Alternative Classroom Learning Experience (acle, or where we get one afternoon off to go to topics and discussions that interest us) highlighting Multiply. I love this site. More power to you guys.
I tried to put a link to multiply in my facebook status. it won't let me type in my full URL to my Multiply homepage. Darn them..
I had a similar problem on Friends Reunited, so I keyed in my url one word at a time with the word "dot" instead of the dot, hoping that those who are intelligent enough can understand. Obviously it won't work as a direct link, but people will still be able to get there.
They have an automatic setting there which deletes the ".com" allegedly to protect your privacy, but hey, I don't want a nanny, I think I'm old enough to decide what info to publish on which website.
Thank god for this investment now we know you can afford more storage and we can rest easy knowing all our content won't be deleted at least for a while longer now hehe!
Seriously though I LOVE you guys & gals......Multiply really is the best social networking site in the world and deserves this vote of confidence and more in the future!

For several sides I think Multiply is one of the best social network you can find online , but i see it is growing fast ...so ...Congratulation Multiply , go on in this way and you will be the number one !
I only see potential pedophiles and rapers in Multiply
To be fair, the way one perceives Multiply has a lot to do with whom they've chosen as contacts. If that's what you're seeing in Multiply, I do hope you'll report it to customer service.
