If you've ever wanted both an easier way to constantly keep up-to-date with the latest from your Multiply network and a dead-simple way to post new content, it sounds like you want the brand new Multiply Toolbar.
Click that link; it's available now!
If the mention of the toolbar causes you to feel a strange sense of déjà vu, it might have something to do with the toolbar preview we showed you a little while back. Or perhaps, if you're in the MUDS group (yay!), you may already be using it, thanks to the sneak preview we posted there late last week.
One particularly nice feature is the integrated drag-and-drop photo uploader. Click the "Post" button followed by "Photos" and simply drag your photos onto the upload box -- no extra messy browser plugins needed!
As you probably already know, the toolbar works with Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers, so there's no reason to not give it a try.
It works perfectly for me in Firefox, but unfortunately, I had to uninstall it since I already have the Multiply link in my bookmarks and navigating within the site is just almost just as easy as navigating with the toolbar. This would be of more use to someone who posts every single day in Multiply though. Thanks!
Are you on a Windows computer? Mac? Something else?
windows 2k with service pack 4
I have never had any problems with firefox so far ...
The multiply toolbar is somehow smaller in height than the other toolbars, I can open the pulldown menus in the toolbar, but when I choose any of the menu items, nothing at all happens
it is like ... that the UI gadgets are not connected with the program logic behind the toolbar. I will disable now all other Firefox Add-Ons to check if any of them doesn't go along with the MT.
Yep, that's it ! One of the FireFox add-ons does not work together with the Toolbar ! give me some minutes to find out wich ...
Can you open the Error Console (available under Tools menu of Firefox) and paste any of the messages relevant to Multiply Toolbar? Look for the link under the message to start with chrome://multtoolbar/...
Toolbar does nothing in Firefox. Buttons don't work or do anything, etc.
It's possible that one of your other extensions is conflicting in some way with the Multiply Toolbar. Can you open the Error Console and see if there are any messages related to Multiply Toolbar? Also, a list of your installed extensions would help in figuring out the problem.
yep, there are 2 error messages ( in german, I try to translate them): "uncaught exception: the permission for the execution of the method Locate.toString was denied."

There are other features that come with the toolbar. The Search button is actually a menu and lets you search within Multiply in various ways. Another feature that is not immediately obvious is the easy photo uploader that is activated only when the toolbar is installed.
It's of course your choice whether to keep the toolbar installed, but I just wanted to highlight some of the features that may not be immediately obvious.

I have still these 2 failures:
Failure 1:
the 4 buttons on the left ("new personal messages" ... "new groups post ") still don't work. I think they are for filtering messages in the message board.
* Strange thing happened: after reactivating 3 add-ons in FireFox, the 4 buttons seems to work now.
Failure 2:
The height of the toolbar is so small, that you can't reat the text in the search text field

Is there a line number next to the link under the error message? If you can, please post the complete error message. You can right-click on the message and copy.
no, there is no line number ... and I can't reproduce the error. But I will keep the error console open in the next time to watch it and find out what action would produce this error.

ok, I finally found it:
When I reactivated the "Yahoo Photo Easy Upload Tool", version 2007.6.18, the multiply toolbar blocked again. Now, that I deleted this Yahoo add-on, the multiply toolbar works fine (but it's still to small).
Be honest: It's not a bug, it's feature. To finally get the people away from Yahoo 360, lol
If you have the little cupcake installed below, it renders the MT useless. You wouldn't think it would have anything to do with blocking the MT toolbar, but it does. Also, the Search box doesn't look too hot with the Noia Extreme theme installed

Great. Thanks for the info. DId you happen to see if the Error Console had any messages this time? If we knew what exactly the problem was we can work around it.

Excellent. I am going to check this addon and see what's causing the problem. About the theme problem, try resizing the searchbar and see if it looks a little better. Unfortunately, no matter what we do, it is not possible to make the Multiply Toolbar look nice in all the themes.

no, there are no error messages anymore. There is a couple of messages with this text
"deprecated method document.getSelection() called. Please use window.getSelection() instead."
But deprecated methods should not be a problem ... are they ?
There is another problem ... when I want to open another toolbar, the "dict.cc Toolbar" version 1.5.23.0, ( from http://hosting.conduit.com/?ct=CT65619 )
this toolbar does not show any items anymore. Seems like the multply toolbar has some negative impact on it.
hai guys, i just want u know that my heart is hurt... i want u know that only MUSIC can help me to forget all of my problem maybe u r the one I want, try me... :)
If u using firefox or opera u could make your own multiply toolbar just like this :
View all = http://your_id.multiply.com/item/views/all_home?&item_id=all_home (See Detailed Viewing History --> Your Entire Site) Home = http://your_id.multiply.com (Home of Your Blog) Journal = http://your_id.multiply.com/journal (See all your journal posting) Music = http://your_id.multiply.com/music (See all your music playlist) Reviews = http://your_id.multiply.com/reviews (See all your music reviews)
Unread = http://multiply.com/mail/updates/your_id/1?&mail:by=prox%3A25&&mail:show_type=&&mail:unread=on (Show Your Message Board Only Unread Message) Board All = http://multiply.com/mail/updates/your_id/1?&mail:by=prox%3A25&&mail:show_type=&&mail:unread= (Show Your Message Board All Message)
Change your_id with yours. open the page. if u using firefox, turn on your bookmark toolbar, and drag your page to bookmark toolbar. repeat for every link.
With Multiply Toolbar you need two times push your mouse button (two click) to post your journal, with your own toolbar you just need a single click.
I have just uploaded the toolbar, adjusted the size of the search, options and logout panes just be dragging them just to where I wanted. Quite easy Everything works well. I also made the necessary changes in the toolbar options and am very happy with this toolbar, great job, guys as always!!!!! Love Multiply!!!! Hugs S
Well I finally got rid of it and also that Yahoo Photo thing.Went into Firefox tools and found it all under add-ons.So now i'm gonna try it again.Wish me luck!!
Which toolbar did you install? Firefox or IE? If it is FIrefox, please read all the comments in this post. Multiply toolbar conflicts with other extensions like Viamatic Foxpose and Yahoo bulk uploader, and there may be others too.
While these kinks are being worked out, if you have any of those extensions, disable or uninstall them and restart your browser. Post here if you still have problems.
most importantly, i get to bulk upload photos w/o any java/html hassle that used to bug me this past year. Plus, I lurve the part where I can immediately post link on Multiply w/o having to click the "post" link onsite then copy/paste it.
i tried installing the multiply toolbar but then i had a problem opening other websites. when i put the url in the address box, it would not open that website but is redirected instead to a url seeker site. never had this before. when i uninstalled the multiply toolbar, my browser again worked fine.

yes, true, but you wouldn't have the active message summary..
I want to have Multiply Toolbar in my Maxthon Browser, Could anyone develope such for me ^ ^
I believe Maxthon is a variant of Internet Explorer, so you should be able to use the Multiply Toolbar for IE. Did you visit http://multiply.com/toolbar and if you already did, what did you see there?

This is done only when the url you entered was in error most likely because of misspellings. It is similar to when you enter a misspelled search term in Google and it suggests alternative spellings.
If you don't like Multiply Toolbar suggesting alternatives, it can be disabled easily. No need to uninstall the toolbar. You can go to the Toolbar Options menu, click on Toolbar Settings. In the Settings window, uncheck the option Suggest alternative sites if web address is not found.
You guys neglected to mention that it's only good for Firefox 2.0 - 2.0.0.7. My Firefox 2.0.0.8 says the extension is not compatible. . . . Time to update the brand-new widget!

It works with Firefox 2.0.0.8 for me here and also other users here have mentioned 2.0.0.8.
You should have no problem with 2.0.0.8. Please try again, perhaps after clearing the cache and restarting the browser.
I uninstalled it, cleared the cache and restarted, and that solved the problem. Wonder why it was so complicated. Almost all of the 60 or so other add-ons I've installed at various times have worked on the first try.

While I wouldn't bet my life on it, I am pretty sure it's not the Toolbar's problem. I have seen it in the past occassionally that when Firefox upgrades itself to a new release and then I install an addon, it wouldn't install cleanly. If I repeated the install process after a restart, it would be fine. Not always, but I have seen it.
i tried it to upload photos and i like it but one thing iv noticed is that after i uploaded my pictures, the box where viewers can comment can not be seen or cannot be found.

it was not a case of misspelled domain name because what i did was just select from the drop down list showing all the previous sites I have visited, like i always did in the past. i never had problems with this before, but this happened only after installing the multiply toolbar. when i removed the toolbar, everything was back to normal. ergo, it was the multiply toolbar that caused the problem.
i uninstalled the the multiply toolbar because i won't be using it anyway.
Hi! Love the new toolbar! I do have a problem. My computer (Windows 98SE) needs more memory added, and the toolbar has lowered performance speed-wise, etc.( I didn't realize it was sooo low on memory.) How can I un-install it until I can add more memory?? I need HELP!! Please get in touch with me ASAP! Thank you! LaVonne/Poetess46
Microsoft Internet Explorer is the required and browser by the creators of the multiply toolbar and therefore there is no wonder, if it does not support other browsers like firefox, opera or netscape or even msnexplorer. Please use the Browser required by the Toolbar and it is not yet at present designed to work with other browsers.
it is the same with other toolbars also. but if it doen't work in IE, then you have to complain. otherwise, it is not any fault of the programme if it does not work for which it is not designed. The requirement for the toolbar is already given clearly in the page. Without looking at it, blogging any comments as you like, doesn't seem to be a good thing, any how.
I haven't tried installing it as under System Requirements it says: Microsoft Windows (98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP), so I wasn't sure if it would work with Vista.
