In addition to the Multimedia Replies and Default Access Setting features we recently announced, we wanted to give you an advance look at another upcoming feature!
Any day now, we'll be unveiling a dedicated page where you'll be able to view all of the posts to which you're subscribed for e-mail alerts. You'll even be able to unsubscribe from multiple alerts... without having to leave or refresh the page! A simple click of the small envelope () next to the post will change your alert subscription for the post.
As some users may know, it's certainly already possible to subscribe or unsubscribe from individual alerts... we're just making it easier. To do this for the time being, click the "Preferences" link on your My Multiply page and enable Show "Subscribe," "Pin," and "Remove" links for each item. This will enable envelope icons on your message board; click one to subscribe or unsubscribe from alerts for a particular post.
Sounds good to me. I've had 2 freinds asking to be removed from my mailing list because they can't unsubscribe from the constant alerts. Anything that makes things easier is good!!!
Ok, thank you. I receive no email alerts - they're way too annoying, but for those that do, this is easy access. Good idea. This won't mess everything up again will it?
YOU WOULD THINK YOU'D GIVE US THE ABILITY TO MAKE OUR BOXES TRANSPARENT WITHOUT HAVING TO WRITE CSS.
This is off topic, plus, transparent pages are often very hard to read. If you want transparency, just grab the code off some CSS tutorial site and paste it in.
Actually, what else we need is that when someone sends out a mass mailing, we don't get a notification every time the hundred people reply to that message! That drives us insane. We should only be able to get notification of messages that are directly to us, and block the messages that go back to the original sender, but not intended for us. Or... to have an OPT OUT option would be even better because many people just hit "reply to all" without thinking how they are inconveniencing everyone by sending a PM out to everyone that is only really for one person.

I agree with Cameron, that drives us insane... Now who all is going to get this message???
big thanks from me as well cause i have to hit too many things to stop stuff i don't want to see. that mass mailing drives me up the wall too. was getting so many alerts in my email box i set up another account just for multiply use. then there were still to many so i turned all alerts off..yes i'm missing stuff but i'm not getting 400 emails a day either.
I like the "Subscribe," "Pin," and "Remove" but I really want a global off for group posts. By Default you guys have them on. I really want to be able to globally turn that off and just get the emails for PMs, Pins, or whatever I want to get an email for whatever I want (which isn't much). Fix that Calendar thing that Dan wants next Multiply! *Shakes fist*
hehehe if not asking too much... since i already know about this subscribe and unsubscribe thingy way before,,, i think it would be even better if we can delete multiple unwanted posts... its really hard deleting them one by one lol... thanks for all the work that you guys are doing...
Well, ok...just anything that will not end up in my email is good. I had to put Multiply on my ignore list in order to stop the daily emails about what I missed. I did put my notices on the 'never' setting.
This is close to what I suggested to them a while back whereby there should be a "favorites" page so you can bookmark any page within multiply (in or out of your network) and they you can always use that bookmark to find your favorite items.
I like the multiple subscribe and unsubscribe thanks.
I wondered about if it possible to make it so that the PM's could be like the comments box in that someone could reply and you see it if the window was still open. I think it would be great as though you wouldn't need to use an IM anymore just to chat privately in real time. Sometimes I wont even get some of my PM's I know of 3 that it has happened to but could be more and those people haven't let me know.
The beauty of the Yahoo 360 community of the past was getting to know people through their blog writings. I find that sorely lacking here, with the emphasis on "surface" elements-- busy page designs, 20 annoying alerts that a single person has posted 20 items instead of a single alert for one individual that simply keeps updating, alerts that let you know that a friend of a friend received a glitter page comment or greeting (who cares?!), defaults set to the most broad alert settings instead of to the most compact, settings locations that are difficult to locate and maneuver unless you're familiar with the site and lingo. What people are actually saying is getting lost amongst all the bells and whistles, and I find that sad.
This is a great addition, I'd already found out about individually unsubscribing, but this will make it much easier because it was kind of cumbersome, and I seemed to still be getting alerts about some things I thought I'd unsubscribed to, and with the My Multiply page being so crowded I was missing actual blogs that were being posted, too. So I've had to close down some stuff and I thought I'd set it to no email alerts (because I always check my page way before I check my email, LOL), but I still seem to get them for some things, mainly Guestbook posts. It's a bit confusing for those of us who spent so much time on 360 and got used to how that works, but this site is so great in other respects, and I don't want it to be changed too much in case it ends up with the faults of 360 too! Keep up the good work, I love how responsive you guys are :D
Sounds good. Perhaps now I can get something taken off the 'What You've Missed' emails. I uploaded some pics to 'bustybabes1' people commented, but the site was deleted before I could read those comments. Notification of those comments is always in my 'What You've Missed' emails. If you deleted those potos, please delete the notifications.
Oh my! I have made complaints in the past...so, when something wonderful comes along I must say thank you. That is only fair balance. I love the new Heading Bar for Multiply. Yeah. Well, I have envited all my friends from Yahoo360 to at least test multiply. So, you might be having many people coming from all around the world. I hate that Yahoo 360 is closing according to the managers blog. They put a song on the blogs page and it plays their sadness as they have to let go of a world they created for other...who were like their children and great friends. They need a pat on the back for excellent. The Ancient One (ni)
I enjoy this site very much, but I do agree with a few of the things the others are saying..getting an alert every time someone replies to a mass mailing is an annoyance, I feel like I am spying when I receive a reply in my email that was meant for the original sender and not me. I have turned off the notification many times and still get them. But I'm sure you will do something about that soon. And I dearly would love some sort of IM service here. whether it be instant replies to a private message or a Chat..If I could have that I would leave yahoo altogether. Thank you so much for the wonderful site you have here now.

i'm glad somebody brought that up! it's true - sometimes all those alerts makes it even difficult to stay in contact with friends. i've had the sad experience of having to take someone off my list simply because i get inundated with too many unwanted alerts from that person's site that all of my other contacts' alerts get buried.
glad to join mudiply haven got my page compleatly set up yet looking foward to metting new friends be paciece merry christmas to all be carefulful over the holidays no drinking and driveing god bless you all. love peggy if you want to be my friend invite me
HI MULTIPLY STAFF, I LOVE MY MULTIPLY VERY MUCH AND LOVE ALL THE NEW ADDED THINGS TO MY PAGE
COULD YOU PLEASE FIX THE GUEST BOX TO WERE WE CAN DELETE COMMENTS BETTER AND FASTER. ALL THE GRAPHICS ON MY GUEST BOOK COMMENTS ARE SLOWING MY PAGE DOWN. I CAN ONLY DELETE ONE AT A TIME. TO DELETE ONE IT TAKES ME 30 MINUTES AND SOME TIMES I GET ZAPPED OFF OR FREEZE UP. WE NEED A WAY TO DELETE COMMENTS IN GUEST BOOK WITH THE OPTION TO DELETE MORE THEN ONE AT A TIME.
