If you've been following the Internet blog buzz lately, you already know that privacy on social websites is once again a hot topic. Well, it never really ceased to be, but it seems to be back on everyone's radar this week, with a particular vengeance.
We figured that now would be a good time to point you to a series of past entries, Why Multiply is Safe, which we blogged in four parts back in February and March of this year.
Even without the recent buzz about other services, it's a good idea to be aware of the fine-grained privacy options that we provide on Multiply. The entries linked above highlight a few ways Multiply makes privacy possible... and easy.

well my dear fellows we are still waiting for the space to host files (ebooks, pps, zip folders etc) and also counter to the site. Why don´t you listen to us ???
I recently wrote in about this very subject, but didn't realize it was "the buzz." Anyhow, my concern was that I'd like even more privacy than just the ability to block univited visitors. For instance, I'd prefer that my homepage not show up on search engines. I'd like to conceal my site from public viewing. This said, I love Multiply and am grateful for it.
To be able to view all site visitors, not just known visitors, would be great. It seems at the moment, I can only see if an individual has visited if I've sent out an invitation to the individual. If it's an anonymous user, it doesn't show up at all.

But you can do all these already. =)
- files: upload any file to the Video section and give directions for downloading. - counter: go to your main page logged to your account and you will see how many people have visited your site and even the name of other Multiply members.
So when are you going to delete the account of "freckly12"? Since this person or persons has sent IM's to people who deleted them because of thier interest in kiddie porn, why do you still allow this site to be displayed. This person is making not to thinly vieled threats against the people here. I am one person who was sent the message now on this site & I resent that the site still exists. Thanks Debbie

Thx Ifom lots for the info. Din know about the video section being a place for other files. btw is there a limit to the size of file uploaded there?
And the "counter" only counts ppl who have a multiply account. What about others outside this sphere? Will multiply provide site statics ... because I hope that many ppl will visit my site and benefit from its content (the reverse from those who want a closed social circle)
I am not sure about the answers. I guess there is no limit for uploading files (there is a limit for playing videos with the embeded Flash player though), and I don't know how exactly the counter works. Maybe you should contact the support team or join the MUDS group (link in the right column) and ask. =)
Then Kill the F#@king Perverted ba$turds or Castrate them all
I also had to block an under-age user who claims to be gay. That is an adult subject for adults only, as is anything to do with sex. I'm NOT intereasted in pedophilia or zoophilia, nor in being victimized by some under-aged predator.
I find multiply I pretty safe site. And I agree, you shouldn't post anything that's private. Only stuff that you don't mind people reading about. That 's why my blog is in portuguese.

I was informed that if you have your contacts listed as anything other than online Buddy, that the other persons contacts are also able to view your site . Is this correct & If so, could you please give me the link to this information so I can save it for my files for when I try to explane this to someone who wants to join my contacts list. Thank you, Butch
