We'll let you in on a secret -- while Multiply's servers may run on electricity, some of the people behind it actually run on a delectable Japanese confection best known as Pocky.
After a few Multiply employees discovered this delicacy at a local Asian restaurant and found themselves so positively hooked, they decided that they could probably get a better deal buying in bulk. Scouring the wide Internets, they came across a website offering a much better deal, and placed a rather large order.
On April 4th, the order arrived at our offices, to great amusement; none here had ever seen such a large amount of Pocky in one place. Naturally, predictions were made as to when the trio would finish every last box -- not a trivial task either, with the order weighing in at 112 boxes (give or take a few).
Well, the last box was finally consumed yesterday, folks. Fortunately, the next order had already been placed well in advance and arrived today! One could only imagine what may have happened if these sysadmins and developers had to go a day without Pocky!
A new shipment means that it's time for a new round of predictions... and this time, you can get yours on the board! We invite you to leave a comment on this post with the date when you think the three will finish the final box of this shipment.
If you feel that you need more details to make an educated prediction, we can tell you that the number of boxes in the order (116) is more or less equal to last time. The main difference in this shipment is that approximately half of the boxes ordered are the standard chocolate variety, while the rest is made up of various other flavors, such as "Mousse Berry," "Almond Crush" and ever-mysterious "Men's Pocky." Last time, chocolate made up the bulk of the order with a small assortment of other flavors along for the ride. What effect do you think the increased variety will have on their rate of consumption?
If you're interested in seeing just what 116 boxes of Pocky -- and a few of us -- look like... look no further than below, for photos from the unpacking!
PEZ had 26 boxes of pocky?? LOL. who's that one who had 30?
He didn't have 26, April 26th was the date he predicted the first order of pocky would be gone :) The pocky was gone on May 31st so Emo won the bet with his prediction of June 1st.
I predict this batch will last longer because any sane person would be getting sick of eating that stuff by now. Of course that statement contains an assumption which may not be accurate, but I'll go with it for now.

oh my bad :)) do you guys get fair share of all of those boxes of pocky?

Mmm... my prediction was (partially) based on the same principle. I think the new flavors will go first, and once those have been exhausted, the plain chocolate will kind of hang around for a while.

I dunno....we were all going at least 1 box/day till the end (for the most part)
technically I should wait for the 3rd shipment to make a guess... since their is no telling who will love or hate which flavor and what effect allergies may have... but I am going to guess anyway.
Going with the theory that some of the other flavors will be slightly less appealing than Chocolate (their is very little on this earth that chocolate does not help with), I am going to say it will take an extra week for the order to be consumed. August 8th
c: Pockyyyyyyyy! <3 If it was me, I'd have finished it by next week. Lol, just kidding. They'll probably finish it around end of July or beginning of August.
you might want to add a little variety to your pocky consumption (which, i must admit, is a very good thing indeed) by tossing in a few bags of Philippine Brand Dried Mangoes, yum!

Can't say how long it'll take...but i do know that if all the sticks in the box get melted together (this happened to me ^-^;) they get eaten a LOT faster...like a pockysicle...

This happened with the first box of Pocky Chocolate Crush. And you're correct. They went a lot faster. :-)
there's a "fake/bootleg" pocky in my country called rocky. everything is the same; the packaging, right down to the font and color, except for the taste of course
You guys are crazy! But i'm a fan too of jap chocolates. They just have the right sweetness. Their dark chocolates are good too. try meiji chocolates. :)
hmm it also depends on how fast the other varieties were being consumed last time... anyway... i say... Mid July!! (well i know it's not much of a guess... it'd help if i know you guys' workload for the past 3 + coming 2 months.. but anyway!) I'd just say July 15th to be exact! XD
btw, i hv some feedback on the import journal (from livejournal) function, should i comment here or...?
