Multiply's posts with tag: maintenance
We thought you might be interested in knowing ahead of time that we have some maintenance work to do, planned for early this coming Sunday (January 6). The maintenance, while minor, will cause a little bit of downtime. It's expected to begin around 2 am U.S. ET ( in your time zone, that's...), but shouldn't really last that long, at all. We're just going to be moving some stuff around. Your patience and understanding, as always... are great. Awesome, in fact!
We just thought we'd let you know ahead of time that we're going to be doing a bit of routine maintenance on Multiply tonight. It will require a little bit of downtime, which should last no more than an hour or two. This will happen tonight around 1 a.m. US ET. ( See this in your local time zone.) As always, your patience and understanding is greatly appreciated.
We have a bit of work to do on Multiply tonight, and we thought we'd let you know ahead of time. During the course of this routine maintenance, Multiply will be temporarily unavailable. We expect this to begin at or around 3:30 am U.S. Eastern time ( see this in your local time) and shouldn't last very long at all – approximately a half hour or so.
This is just a heads-up that we have to perform a little bit of maintenance on Multiply momentarily. Most users will not be affected at all by this, however, a small percentage of users may not be able to access certain photos, videos or playlists while this maintenance is in progress.
Once the work is completed, they will be back again... good as new! It could be up to 24 hours before things are finished, though, so we'd like to make sure everyone's aware of what is happening.
As you may already know, we do a bit of maintenance on Multiply from
time to time. We typically give you advance warning, just to make sure
no one is caught by surprise.
This is one such
time.
We'd just like you to know that sometime
around 12:30 am (US Eastern time) on Friday,
Multiply will be unavailable for a brief period of time while we do
some
routine maintenance on the site. If you happen to visit the site while
we're unavailable, please know that we're making things better, and
we'll be back soon.
Astute readers of this blog know that from time to time we do routine
maintenance on Multiply, which means that you may catch the site at a
moment when part or parts of it may be unavailable. Well, another one
of those times is coming soon.
This time, the site
will be down for relatively short periods over the course of the next
week or so, while we perform some mostly-routine hardware upgrades.
We'll try to get this done at non-peak parts of the day, when fewer
people are likely to be using Multiply, but since there's always
someone on Multiply, someone will be interrupted by this. We hereby
apologize in advance to someone. :-)
In short, we
just wanted to let everyone know about this ahead of time, so that it
doesn't come as a suprise when the time comes. But after the work is
finished, site performance should be noticeably snappier -- so there's
certainly something for everyone to look forward to!
From time to time, we have to do a little maintenance on Multiply to tidy
things up a bit. Well, one of those times coincides with this afternoon.
Consider this is a
heads-up to let you know that there's a slight possibility that you may find parts
of Multiply unavailable throughout the rest of today. If you're using Multiply at one of these times, don't worry -- it'll only be a brief interruption, so please wait a few minutes and try again.
At the end
of the day we'll have a happier, healthier Multiply. Thanks in advance
for your patience!
As we mentioned last week, Multiply is in the midst of some routine maintenance. This is going to require a bit of complete downtime tomorrow (Friday) evening, Eastern Daylight Time, while we do some work on Multiply. If you're using Multiply around this time and are working on long blog entries or the like, be sure to save your work frequently, either using our handy "Save as Draft" feature or an external program that allows you to save your progress. (Consider this not only a reminder for tomorrow, but generally a good habit to get into.) As always, thank you for your patience and understanding!
Consider this a heads-up that it's that time again.
Yes, that time.
Over the course of the next week or so, Multiply
may experience a few brief periods of downtime. But this is a good
thing. Seriously. When this routine maintenance is done, Multiply will
be back, better and shinier than ever.
We know that
this is the same story you hear every time, but there's a good reason
for that -- it's true.
We
haven't been wrong yet.
We're all about looking ahead
to the future because like everybody else, that's where we're headed.
And because we see plenty of good things down the road for Multiply,
we'd like to make sure the site can keep up with its continued growth.
Growth is the kind of thing that happens when you
invite people and they invite people and... you know the rest. So to
keep Multiply bright and healthy and vital, we're going to be giving it
some TLC in the coming days. Some serious TLC. For us, this means there's lots of work
ahead. Some sleepless nights. Rolled-up sleeves. Perhaps
even blood, sweat and tears. (Though we'd like to keep the blood and
tears to a minimum.) And what does this mean to you? An unfortunate
side-effect of the work we'll be doing comes in the form of some
downtime in the next few days. At times, a few accounts may be
inaccessible. At other times, more than a few. But not to worry, we
won't ever leave you in the dark. If you visit Multiply during that
time, we'll try to let you know what's going on. To
give you an idea of the scope of this undertaking, when we're done,
we'll have roughly twice the current number of servers that we have
now, all serving up piping hot, fresh Multiply. So expect serious
improvements in stability, and generally good things for the
future. So expect a happier Multiply. A healthier
Multiply. A more robust Multiply. And, of course,
happy Multiply users.
