Multiply's posts with tag: press release
The Multiply we all know and love is
expanding, broadening its horizons... even learning a new
language! That's right, through our partnership with
the fine folks at Transcosmos, Multiply is proud to extend
our service to Japanese speakers all over the world.
We have completely translated Multiply into
Japanese; users with their location set to Japan will automatically
begin seeing Multiply in this language. Regardless of where you are,
you can change your display language -- simply click My Account (登録情報) and
use the language drop-down shown above. We know that
this will probably bring up a very specific question: When is Multiply going to be translated into [other
language]? For this, we have a relatively specific answer:
We don't know yet.
As it is, we don't have any plans just yet for
further translations, but we've learned a lot from the Japanese
translation effort and feel that we're in a much better position to
work on other languages in the future. You can read our formal press release here.
If you haven't tried out our premium account offerings over the years, you may
not know what you've been missing. Those who have upgraded could probably attest
to how great it feels to have more themes to choose from, extra customization
options (CSS), and even higher upload limits. These were just some of the benefits of
going premium. Were? Yes, were. As of
today, everyone can experience this exquisite joy for themselves. Things that
were once restricted only to premium account holders are now available to all
Multiply members. And unlimited photos, music... and yes, even video uploads are
now free for all! If you were already a premium user when we
made this change... thank you! It's only through the support of people like you
that we were able to get to the point where a change like this would even be
possible. We're sure you appreciate the fact that more people will now be
getting more out of Multiply. As our way of saying "thank
you" to our premium users, you won't ever have to see advertising on Multiply, a
benefit you may have already gotten used to. Additionally, you still have the ability to customize the right sidebar of your personal site... a
great place for a short bio, a list of links (or "blogroll"), or other extra
customizations. And, of course, you'll continue receiving discounts when you order
photo prints. In short, we hope this decision means positive
things to as many users as possible, and makes it even easier to share your life
with those you know. Do you have any feedback, or questions
for us? Be sure to let us
know! You can read our formal press release here.
At Multiply, our business is helping people communicate with those they care about, whether it's sharing life experiences through photos and blog entries , or advice in groups and reviews. Given our fondness for caring and sharing, we're proud to be an associate sponsor of the 2006 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Every year, thousands of people across the U.S. participate in a series of two-day, 39-mile walks to raise money to support the treatment of breast cancer, as well as research into finding a cure for this disease. A woman has a 1 in 7 chance of developing breast cancer in her lifetime. This year, Multiply will be right there on the sidelines, supporting the cause and documenting the events through photos that will be shared in a very special Multiply group. Like many other Multiply groups, anyone is welcome to browse these photos, and participants can even share their own (as well as videos, discussion and their personal Walk stories). And for photo prints purchased from the Avon Walk group, 20% of the purchase price will benefit the Avon Foundation! If you'd like to do more than spectate (although walkers can always use supporters!), there's still time to register online for most Walk events. Here's the schedule of cities: | Washington, DC | | April 29 - 30 | | Boston | | May 20 - 21 | | Chicago | | June 3 - 4 | | Denver | | June 24 - 25 | | San Francisco | | July 8 - 9 | | Los Angeles | | September 16 - 17 | | New York | | October 7 - 8 | | Charlotte | | October 21 - 22 |
That's right, the Washington, D.C. Walk is less than a week away! If you're going, be sure to check out the Avon Walk D.C. web page for more information. You can read our formal press release here.
If you haven't noticed it yet, the pleasure of introducing Multiply 2.0 is all ours. Sure, we've prettied up Multiply, rounded off the pointy corners and such. We won't blame you if that's the first thing you notice. But if you dig a bit deeper, you'll find that there's more to this update than a fresh, new layout. Instead of sending you off on a scavenger hunt looking for what's new, we'll just list a few of them for you. So with very little further ado, here are some of the wonderful new things you'll find on Multiply: Smoother visuals. We've rounded off the corners of most of the straight lines we could find lying around the site. We hope this helps make your experience browsing Multiply a smoother, more enjoyable one. But while everyone loves smooth visuals, they're just one part of our new...
Simplified layout. We took a bunch of the stuff that you didn't need to see right now and hid it, reducing the clutter and making Multiply more straightforward. But if you're lost, we've got you covered --just look for our brand new...
Navigation clues. On many pages, you'll find a few "See Also" links pointing you to some of the more common things you may want to, related to the purpose of that page. These will help you find options and features that may not be immediately apparent otherwise. Oh, and you'll definitely want to have a look at our overhauled...
Explore Page. This new-and improved version of the old 'messages' page has been stripped down for simplicity, while at the same time infused with new features. For instance, there are now four message views on this page (check out the new "Full Entries" mode for quick reading!) and the much-requested option to view your messages by posted date, rather than by the last reply. And when you want to post content for your network to explore, just turn to our new...
Quick-posting dashboard. The old 'Post'drop-down was alright, I guess. But this is so much prettier, plus it keeps the tools you need to post content right at your fingertips. Click Post, choose your content type and post. And now, the time on your post will appear consistent with your...
Local timezones. A lot of you requested this. And now, you've got it.(Choose your time zone on your "My Account" page.)
That's right, folks-- fun stuff, all around. We actually have more that we'd like to show you now, but we'll have to save that for another time. Look for it in the next few weeks... or keep an eye on this blog and we'll be sure to let you know! You can read our formal press release here.
